July 15 - Chilling

Finally, some time to rest. Actually we didn't have it, but we took it.

We took the train early this morning to Nagasaki in order to be able to see everything we had planned for Nagasaki. However, in our way to Nagasaki, we noticed that everything we had planned was way too expensive. Ok, maybe it was not expensive, but it was not free, and we didn't want to start spending money for every little thing we visited. Appart from that, we hadn't slept too much last night. When we finally arrived at the hostel in Nagasaki, we were exhausted. Actually, we didn't plan to spend too much time resting at the hostel, but the room was very tempting. We had a private room with a huge bed (at least compared to the last ones), a private bathroom and even a shower and a bathtub. The bed was really cozy, so, when we layed down to rest a bit, we simply couldn't gather the strength to get up again.
We slept until 6 pm. By then almost everything was already closed, thus, the only thing we could do was to walk around in the city. We walked alongside the river that crosses the city up to the Glasses Bridge, and then turned left to go to a shopping center nearby. By the time we came out (after buying some food and a Yukata for Pia), it was already dark. Actually, the city looks even more beautyful at night than during the day.

After walking for some time around the city, we got back to the hostel, and used the rest of the onion and potatoes we had from the "tortilla" we made a few days ago to make another one. This time, it was even more than last time. A korean guest at the hostel was looking very interested while we were making the tortilla, so we decided to invited him to join us. We kept on talking afterwards and exchanging experiences from our trip here in Japan. This is one of the reasons why I prefer hostels instead of hotels. If you book a private room in a hostel, you can get the same privacy you get in a hostel, but you have a common room where you can meet other people like you and exchange experiences or simply have a nice chat with the other guest. Lately I have been doing that a lot. In most hostels we've been to there was free tea, so I've adopted the habit of going to the common room every night, makin myself some tea and drinking it while chatting with someone or writing my blog. I think I might be overdoing it, though. I've been going to bed at one or two in the morning because of this, and this lack of sleep is really starting to affect me...

Japan from the train. I would love to post some of videos I made, but they need to be cut first, and I can't edit HD videos with a Netbook... That'll have to wait until I'm back home.
Our room. Behind me there is a toilet and a shower room. This is the best angle I could get...
The view from our hostel window.
Walking alongside the river.
The Glasses Bridge. It's not hard to figure out why it is called like that, right?
